In the early 1960's cosmetologist Elisabeth Sigmund teamed up with chemist Dr. Rudolf Hauschka to create a holistic system for restoring skin health and beauty. Dr. Hauschka had been formulating holistic remedies for years and was intrigued by the work Ms. Sigmund had been doing at her clinic in Sweden, where she employed combinations of healing plant extracts and gentle rhythmic touch to transform and rejuvenate her clients' complexions. The result of their labor, the Dr. Hauschka Skin Care line, was introduced in 1967. The concept was and continues to be simple: infuse the healing qualities of plant extracts into every preparation in order to stimulate the skin's ability to find its way back to health.
